This morning, 30th April The Asia Foundation kindly gave us a donation of US $10,000 to purchase medicine for earthquake victims here in Nepal. We send our heartfelt thanks to them for their generosity and support. This grant will enable us to help hundreds of people and without doubt save precious lives.
Bistab, a nurse from Norvic hospital in Kathmandu, has offered to train our monks in first-aid so that they are more able to help the wounded in the areas they are visiting. She is also helping treat the young monks who have some minor skin problems and the like from so many days camping outside.
We are sending fifteen tarps for make-shift shelters to the surrounding areas of Pharping.

Today we bought 100 more 30 kgs sack of rice and other food for distribution. Here in Kathmandu, the sun has finally come out and the rain has stopped. We are finally warming up. Let’s hope it lasts!
It has been raining non-stop since yesterday evening. Most people are still camping outside and it is cold and damp. After-shocks continue.
